§ 198-6. Location and maintenance.

A.Each dumpster must be located at a distance from the lot line, as defined in Chapter 235, Zoning, § 235-5, so as not to interfere with the safety and convenience or health of any abutters or residents. Specific dumpster locations may be directed by the Director of Public Health as approved by the Board of Health.B.The dumpster site may be required to be enclosed or screened when deemed necessary by the Director of Public Health in a manner to be prescribed by the Director of Public Health as approved by the Board of Health.C.All dumpsters, except temporary roll-off construction-type dumpsters, shall be equipped with lids that shall be closed, except during filling or emptying. When closed, dumpsters may be required to be locked as deemed necessary by the Director of Public Health as approved by the Board of Health.D.It shall be the responsibility of the property owner or owners being serviced to maintain the dumpster and dumpster site free of all nuisances, including but not limited to scattered debris, overflowing debris, undue odor and pests and rodents.E.The property owner or owners shall have the dumpster washed, deodorized, sanitized or steamed as deemed necessary by the Director of Public Health as approved by the Board of Health.
